Spokane Transit Authority Battery Electric Bus Charging Infrastructure

Coffman provided electrical and structural engineering services for Spokane Transit Authority’s (STA) Boone Northwest Garage (BNWG) in Spokane, Washington. STA required additional slow charging capabilities to maintain their increasing fleet of battery-electric buses (BEB). This project included the addition of ten DC chargers, mounted above the garage floor, to be raised and lowered via motorized cord reels. Coffman worked closely with the cord reel manufacturer to design a custom installation and application to work within the unique project parameters for clear height and charge cable use. Coffman’s scope includes completion of design and engineering, construction drawings, permitting, and construction administration services.
