Maricopa County Police Administration and 911 Dispatch

Coffman is providing fire protection engineering and construction administration assistance for the new Maricopa County Police Administration and 911 Dispatch Center in Maricopa, Arizona. We are supporting State Fire DC Specialties, LLC in the fire protection design of fire sprinkler and clean agent systems for a new 45,000 sf City of Maricopa administration facility.

As the Engineer of Record, Coffman is following the Arizona Substantive Policy Statement. We are performing an analysis of the project to determine the appropriate fire protection designs, applicable codes and standards, and review the adequacy of the water supply. Coffman is reviewing and commenting on the State Fire’s fire protection design submittals, and when approved, will seal the final fire sprinkler and clean agent construction documents. Coffman is also performing construction administration services including site inspections, witnessing testing, and commissioning as necessary.

This project includes the design of new fire sprinkler systems to protect office and storage areas. Clean agent systems will be designed for the dispatch, UPS, and data storage areas where evidence and data storage require special protection.

The applicable codes for the project are the 2018 International Building Code (IBC) and the 2018 International Fire Code (CFC) as adopted by the City of Maricopa. The design for the fire protection systems, as well as inspection and commissioning, will be performed at different times.
