The LEED Silver Certified, 85,000 sf, Benteh Nuutah Valley Native Primary Care Center in Wasilla, Alaska includes dental, behavioral health, wellness, and walk-in medical care. Coffman performed mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design and simulated energy performance documenting energy cost savings of over 27%. The mechanical design included an exhaust air heat recovery system to preheat cold outside air, and a radiant floor heat pump system to efficiently maintain comfortable conditions at the building perimeter in the harsh Alaska climate. Electrical engineering design included power, lighting, access control, security, communications systems, CATV distribution, and fire alarm.
