Meet Tom

Tom is an electrical engineering principal in the Anchorage office.

Tom is the former General Manager of Coffman’s Anchorage office and department manager of the electrical engineering group. He has substantial experience in federal, commercial, and heavy industrial and petrochemical markets. Especially skilled as a multidiscipline design team manager, Tom has led Coffman’s efforts on DOD projects throughout Alaska and the Pacific, corrections projects in Alaska including mechanical electrical design for Goose Creek Correctional Facility, medical clinics, schools, dormitory/man-camps, oil and gas production facilities (both offshore and onshore) and rural Alaska infrastructure.

With nearly 40 years of experience, Tom has a wide breath of engineering, project management, and construction experience including fire and security alarms, lighting, instrumentation and control (including PLC and HMI programming), audiovisual, voice, data and RF communications systems, power generation, power transmission and distribution, power systems for commercial and industrial facilities, and alternative energy systems.

Tom enjoys opportunities to mentor and coach other engineers at Coffman, passing on his passion for the problem-solving nature of engineering.
