Silvergate Senior Living Facility

Coffman provided multidiscipline engineering services for this multi-building residential care facility for senior citizens. The 287,000 sf campus features a memory care suites building, podium parking structure, restaurant, clubhouse, apartments, cottages, and pool house. The three-story memory care building and restaurant building consist of metal stud construction (designed by other consultants) and are supported by a one-level below-grade concrete parking structure. The three-story clubhouse building’s structural design includes steel framing with braced frames and is connected to the two adjacent metal stud framed apartment buildings (designed by other consultants).

Coffman’s structural team provided the foundation design for the apartment buildings utilizing a ribbed slab foundation solution. The cottages and pool house are comprised of wood-framed construction with post-tensioned slab foundations. The civil and fire protection scopes included the fire water main, fire water services, backflow prevention, fire department connections, post indicator valves, hydrants, and the associate detailing.
