SDCCD Mesa College Commons Cafeteria & Bookstore

Coffman provided structural design-build services for a two-story, 73,000-square-foot facility featuring an expanded cafeteria, a new food court, convenience store and cafe, a campus bookstore and stockroom, food service and dining areas. The Second Floor functions include a Culinary Arts Management program classroom and laboratory, the student-run M-Fusion Dining Cafe, faculty and staff lounge spaces and meeting rooms, a reprographic area and an outside deck. Boasting an organic roof garden, multiple solar chimneys, radiant floor heat and a substantial solar thermal array, the project was designed to achieve LEED Silver Certification by the USGBC.
