Update (September 2026): We are pleased to share that our Honolulu team returned to the office and resumed normal operations on Tuesday, September 8. We sincerely thank our clients and employees for their patience, flexibility, and understanding throughout this unexpected disruption.
July 2026: On Thursday, July 23, 2026, an air conditioning chiller leak in the basement of Topa Financial Center tower caused an electrical system failure that triggered the building’s sprinkler system. While there was no fire, no damage to Coffman’s office space, and no reported injuries, the incident resulted in a power outage affecting the entire building.
Building management, Hawaiian Electric, and other partners continue restoration efforts. All Honolulu employees are working remotely until further notice while inspections, testing, and repairs are completed. Current estimates indicate that a full return to the office may be several weeks away, though the timeline remains dependent on ongoing assessments, approvals, and repair work.
While our team acclimates to our new normal, please understand that responses may be slightly delayed. Our goal is to get back to fully operational as quickly as possible and we are committed to supporting clients with minimal interruption. Employees can be reached through their normal and email addresses, and project work is continuing as planned.
We will post updates as additional information becomes available. If you have questions or concerns regarding a project or need assistance reaching a member of our team, please contact your Coffman project manager or call our main office number at 808-687-8884.
We appreciate your patience and understanding while building restoration efforts are underway.
