RNG Pipeline Lateral
Coffman provided civil, corrosion control, electrical, industrial, and structural engineering for a renewable natural gas (RNG) pipeline lateral in Oregon. The project scope included a Class 5 estimate (-20%/+30%) for a new, 13-mile lateral taking landfill gas to a transmission pipeline. Two cost estimates were completed to compare steel and HDPE piping systems, which included engineering, labor, and construction costs (with material) for the HDPE vs steel laterals. An RNG Point of Receipt meter station with a Buyback (Point of Delivery) meter station was evaluated for the steel pipeline options, and a similar design for the HDPE pipeline option, except at lower pressure and boost compression at the end of the lateral.
