Solar Photovoltaics (PV)
Coffman has designed systems for solar photovoltaic (PV) and solar thermal projects from rural Alaska to urban environments in Hawaii and California. Services support systems from 30 kW to 300 MW, including ground-mounted, rooftop, and standalone installations. Experience includes design and peer review of utility-scale PV, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and microgrids across industrial, military, residential, and commercial markets.
Wind Energy
Wind power system design requires coordination across site selection and permitting to tower selection, foundation design, and structural static modeling. Coffman’s experience ranges from small-scale turbines to multi-megawatt machines (up to 2.2 MW). Specialized modeling, foundation design, and site-specific design approaches support installations in remote and challenging environments, helping maintain constructability and durability throughout the system life.
Hydroelectric Power
More than 20 years of experience supports hydroelectric facility projects, including rehabilitation and modernization efforts. Our capabilities include engineering for cranes, hoists, gates, drive systems, controls, and major construction support infrastructure to help owners extend asset life and improve operational reliability.
Geothermal
