EMTOC Bus Charging Station Review

Coffman supported the advancement of clean public transportation through its multidisciplinary third-party design review services for a microgrid bus charging station in Montgomery County, Maryland. The station is designed to charge electric buses powered by onsite solar photovoltaic (PV) arrays and battery energy storage. The facility also includes provisions for future hydrogen dispensing, positioning it at the forefront of zero-emissions transit infrastructure.

Coffman’s scope of work included a detailed review of design drawings, production estimates, energy models, Basis of Design documentation, and operating instructions for the facility’s mechanical, electrical, and energy management systems. Owner’s engineer fire protection engineering services were also provided.
