Battery Manufacturing Facility

When a major battery manufacturer decided to build a new lithium-ion battery assembly facility, they chose Coffman for their fire and thermal runaway safety needs. The new facility will be equipped with five lithium-ion battery assembly lines, including a fully automated line and one specifically dedicated to Energy Storage Systems (ESS).

Coffman assisted the client by conducting a holistic fire and explosion hazards analysis of their new facility and operations. In alignment with the recommendations provided in the hazards analysis and code requirements, Coffman provided fire protection, fire alarm, and explosion control system design services. Throughout the project, Coffman facilitated discussion and coordination with the local Authority Having Jurisdiction to deliver a smooth project execution.
