719 Ash Street Hotel

Coffman provided structural and seismic engineering for a new upscale 332-room hotel located at 719 Ash Street in San Diego. The approximately 275,000 sf structure is comprised of 18 levels above-grade and four levels of below-grade parking for 208 vehicles. The ground floor and second level include dual lobbies, a restaurant, retail, and office space. Levels three through 18 feature guestrooms with large penthouse suites on the top level. Construction of the hotel consisted of Type I, cast-in-place and post-tensioned concrete. Lateral resistance was provided by concrete shear walls in both major directions.
