Zutendaal APS Fire Suppression

Coffman provided fire protection engineering services for the installation of the fire sprinkler and fire alarm/mass notification systems in 15 existing warehouse buildings on Zutendaal Air Base in Belgium. In addition, the project included a new base fire water supply system. This consisted of water tanks, a fire pump, fire mains, fire hydrants, and a base-wide fire alarm notification control system.

Coffman served as the Qualified Fire Protection Engineer (QFPE) for the project. Specific services included the design reviews for compliance with UFC 3-600-01 requirements, consulting for the coordination between the US and Host Nation fire protection requirements, construction oversight of sprinkler and fire alarm system installation, and certification of compliance with UFC requirements.
