Stoops Freightliner (PV+BESS) Microgrid
To facilitate their transition to an electric fleet, Stoops Freightliner constructed an all-electric facility for their new freightliners. Coffman provided design services for a microgrid system to enhance operational resiliency, reduce utility energy consumption and costs, and enable net-metering of excess solar power. The microgrid energy assets consist of 0.75-megawatts of rooftop mounted solar (PV) generation producing an estimated 1.2-gigawatt hours of energy annually, and a 0.75-megawatt battery energy storage system (BESS).
This project reflects Coffman’s commitment to sustainable infrastructure and innovative renewable energy solutions. By integrating solar generation and battery storage technologies, Coffman supports clients in fostering public-private partnerships to strengthen their local communities.
