SOCCCD Irvine Valley College Fine Arts Promenade and Performing Arts Yard

Coffman is providing civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and fire protection engineering services for renovations to the Irvine Valley College (IVC) Fine Arts Promenade, the addition of a new coffee shop structure, and upgrades to the Performing Arts Yard. IVC is one of three campuses included in the South Orange County Community College District (SOCCCD), which encompasses 382 square miles in South Orange County and serves over 909,000 residents in 26 communities.

The Fine Arts Promenade will provide art students with outdoor working spaces as well as areas for outdoor meditation and collaborative study while showcasing the arts and connecting to the major circulating spine of the campus. The coffee shop will be a new permanent structure with a seating area for up to 50 people and a custom canopy with solar panels. The Performing Arts Yard renovation will create a workable and secure ‘back of house’ area to support the existing performing arts center. Altogether, the project covers over 130,000 sf (three acres) of the existing campus and has a construction budget of approximately $7M.
