Riverstone Transit Facility

Coffman provided civil, structural, mechanical, electrical engineering and land surveying services for the new Riverstone Transit Center for Kootenai County. The facility includes 74 standard parking stalls and six ADA accessible parking stalls, a one-way loop with room for eight bus bays or bus layover spaces, and a 2,600+ sf administrative building with offices, a driver break room, training room, dispatch office, storage, building restrooms, and secure public restrooms.

The site includes benches, trash receptacles, bike racks, and lighting. As the prime consultant, Coffman provided transit service planning, engineering design, and construction support. The Riverstone Transit Center is designed to accommodate a standard 40’ bus but provides flexibility for larger buses. The $2.1M project received federal funding from the Federal Transit Administration and complies with energy efficiency for the Energy Policy and Conservation Act.
