Rancho Bernardo Vista

Rancho Bernardo Vista is a new 142,000 sf Class A industrial warehouse building in the fast-growing Rancho Bernardo community of San Diego. Coffman provided structural engineering services for the new one-story warehouse, including a 12,800 sf mezzanine. The main structure consists of exterior concrete tilt-up panels, a hybrid panelized roof, and interior buckling-restrained braced frames (BRBF). The mezzanine included composite steel framing and interior concrete tilt-up panels. The entries of the building feature glass storefront sections along with steel framed entry canopies. The rear portion of the building has a series of truck-docks and truck door openings with ramps. One of the primary project challenges was severe slope differences on site. Coffman designed a tall tilt-up retaining wall adjacent to the building on the south side to accommodate this grade difference.
