North Pines Middle School

North Pines Middle School’s class of 2018-2019 students were the first to use the brand new, $29.9 M school that Central Valley School District built to replace the original school built in 1948. Coffman provided structural and electrical engineering and design services on the approximately 86,000 sf facility that includes two 2-story classroom wings, a centrally located, high volume commons area, a double gymnasium, music classroom, and locker rooms.

Unique design elements included the geometry of the building, particularly at the second-floor library which overhangs the administration space below, as well as a partially suspended bridge across the commons area to maintain a column-less first-floor and a feature stair leading up to the bridge.
