Coffman provided topographic survey, civil engineering, and fire protection/life safety/code consulting for this six story, 310,000 sf laboratory and office building in San Diego, California. The project includes pedestrian and vehicular site circulation, stormwater management facilities, site utility design, grading and drainage, and surface parking, in addition to subsurface parking below the building. Coffman was the lead consultant for the demolition, grading, and public improvement permitting. Project challenges that Coffman helped address included fitting the building and associated parking within a uniquely-shaped parcel, minimizing earthwork export, and providing customized stormwater treatment and hydromodification solutions. Construction is anticipated to be complete in 2023.
