Kinect @ Burien

Coffman provided mechanical and fire protection engineering for smoke control consulting services for Kinect @ Burien, a six-story, 350,000 sf, mixed-use apartment building, and parking garage. Work included two pressurized stairs and two pressurized elevators. The team used CONTAM Model Development, which simulated pressurization systems to determine fan capacities. Using this system, Coffman addressed climate and extreme temperatures, wind effect, stack effect, and the impact of the size and location of smoke control relief openings.
