Meet Oyvind
Oyvind is a mechanical engineering principal in the Seattle office. He has extensive experience providing mechanical engineering services for mixed use, residential and hospitality high rise buildings, critical care/hospital facilities, medical clinics, assisted living facilities, data centers, and commercial office buildings.
His project experience includes a variety of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, central heating and cooling plants, hydronic piping systems, plumbing design, medical gas systems, hydronic heating, heat pump systems, chilled water systems, VRF systems, and dedicated outside air systems. Oyvind is also well versed in smoke control systems, underfloor air distribution systems, and sustainable design.
Having previously worked for a mechanical contractor and leading many of Coffman’s design-build teams, Oyvand has developed considerable design-build experience. Oyvind uses a holistic approach that factors in constructability including design and performance through all phases of a project.
Oyvind is involved in Washington State Energy Code development, Seattle Energy Code development, and Seattle Mechanical Code development for more than ten years. He has also been involved with USGBC and LEED since 1997 before LEED version 1.0 was released. In 2005, he completed the Certified Sustainable Building Advisor program, focusing on integrated sustainable design, including indoor environmental quality and high performance building systems. Oyvind has completed more than 25 LEED projects under NC, CS, CI, and LEED for Homes.
