Jefferson Healthcare Building

Serving the Olympic Peninsula as Jefferson Healthcare’s largest medical facility, the Jefferson Healthcare Emergency Services and Specialties (ESS) Building addition includes an expanded emergency department as well as a new orthopedic clinic and cancer treatment center. This 50,000 sf, three story hospital project required the partial demolition of existing structures built in different decades, and structural planning for future programming. As mechanical, structural, electrical, and commissioning engineers for the project, Coffman was engaged in almost every aspect of design. Some of the major upgrades to the hospital included updated parking lot layout schemes with extreme grading conditions along the ambulance travel path, retaining walls, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) features both onsite and public right of way, utility rerouting, stormwater analysis and design, construction assistance, in addition to coordination and design of electronic medical and telecommunications systems.
