i3 – Life Science Building

Coffman Engineers (as Hope-Amundson) provided structural engineering services for three, three-story laboratory/ office buildings situated over a three-level, 310,000 sf subterranean parking garage accommodating up to 737 parking spaces. The building accommodates state-of-the art research with appropriate vibration criteria. A central utility plant servicing all three buildings will be integrated within the subterranean parking garage. i3 features exterior feature stairs and an amenity stair at each building, long cantilevers at the second floor and roof levels, a main entrance courtyard with landscaped areas and green roofs. Amenities include an outdoor auditorium, bicycle storage, bocce courts, rooftop gardens and other sustainable features. The building is being designed to achieve LEED Platinum Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.
