Coachella Valley Water District Palm Desert Critical Support Services

Coffman provided structural engineering services for the new 24,000 sf Palm Desert Critical Support Services Facility which houses the Emergency Operations Center for Coachella Valley Water District (CVWD), located on CVWD’s headquarters campus adjacent to the existing Operations Building. The new emergency center serves as the command and control center during major area events.

This design-build facility features laboratory and testing facilities, department offices and conference rooms, a mission critical supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) control center which registers all security and alarm systems district-wide. The design-build delivery method allowed for the incorporation of state-of-the-art technology for leading research and emergency operations, while providing sustainable building features.
