Caltech Noyes Laboratory Building Renovation

Several existing spaces in the two basement levels of the Arthur Amos Noyes Laboratory of Chemical Physics on the Caltech campus were converted into laboratories, associated equipment and storage space, student and admin offices, and break rooms. Office renovations were made on two of the above-ground floors of the building, Levels 1 and 3. Working alongside HOK and DPR Construction, Coffman performed building and fire code consulting for the design-build project, as well as hazardous materials consulting for the laboratories.

Upon evaluation of the hazardous materials storage and exhaust strategy, Coffman developed an alternate design approach method to accommodate safe and practical use of the laboratory space.
