Meet Steven

Steven is a fire protection engineering principal and the operations manager for the Downtown LA office. Steven joined Coffman in 2016 to start the fire protection engineering practice in Los Angeles and eventually the Downtown Los Angeles office. Steven appreciates the opportunity to support the Coffman team in Southern California. He strives to empower staff to drive the success of our clients by solving challenging problems and providing coordinated multidiscipline engineering services.

Steven is a California-licensed fire protection engineer and mechanical engineer. Steven has extensive knowledge and experience in applying the building and fire codes in various project types. He has successfully developed solutions for complex projects that can meet code requirements and the client’s goals. He attended Claremont Mckenna College, earning a bachelor of arts in physics, and the University of California, Los Angeles, earning a master of science in mechanical engineering.
Steven is an active member of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE), serving on the Southern California chapter board and as Chapter president in 2020 and 2021, promoting the advancement of the fire protection engineering profession. Steven is also a certified DBIA professional.
