Building 68 Renovate Supervisor X06 Office Space

Coffman provided structural, civil, mechanical, fire protection, and electrical engineering for the renovation of the Shop 06 Supervisor Office within Building 68 at the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard & Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PHNSY & IMF). The project transformed a deteriorated space into a modern, functional office while preserving the historic steel-framed building next to the CIA area.

Work included the replacement of existing walls/partitions, finishes, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems and fixtures. Additional scope included installing a fire protection system for the enclosed spaces. The 3,600 sf office now features a conference room, a training area/classroom, and restrooms. The space is ABA compliant, with an accessible building entrance and insulated, conditioned spaces.

PHNSY & IMF’s primary mission provides regional maintenance at the depot and intermediate levels to keep surface ships and submarines of our nation’s Navy ‘Fit to Fight’.  Building 68 is the main operations hub of Code 960’s Shop 06 which is responsible for all tool-related matters concerning the maintenance of Navy vessels such as ordering, inventory, storage, distribution, maintenance, disposal, etc. The infrastructure upgrades support current operational needs and also accommodate expanding technology needs.
