MEET Jami

Jamisen (Jami) is the Honolulu office operations manager and a civil engineering principal. Jami’s depth of experience in the design industry and as a leader is valuable as she nurtures a growing department and supports office operations. The cornerstone of her career is building and maintaining long-term client relationships. She goes the extra mile to try to best understand her client’s needs in order to deliver a successful project. She prides herself on working with many clients for over 20 years. Her design experience with site development spans many markets, including private development, state and local government, and the federal government.

In addition to keeping clients a priority, Jami is focused on developing the skills and leadership of the civil engineering team and regional leadership. She understands the importance of succession and strategically focuses on passing her skills to the next generation of engineers so they can define their own success. When Jami joined Coffman, it was critical for her to find an organization that supported, promoted, and rewarded success among its employees.

Before joining Coffman, Jami spent 22 years in a small family-owned consulting business, which afforded her the opportunity to learn the consulting business from the ground up. As an early participant in the design-build industry, she gained valuable knowledge working with contractors to help prepare winning bids and deliver successful, on-time, on-budget projects. She continues to work with many of the same clients and teammates she first met early in her career.
