U.S. Custom House Limited Modernization Project

Located in the Denver Federal District, the U.S. Custom House is home to nine government agencies and approximately 200 employees. The building was built in the 1930s and is on the National Register of Historic Places. It is designed in an Italian Renaissance Revival architectural style with a solid bronze arched main entrance, quarry tile exterior, and Colorado Yule Marble and oak throughout the interior.

This modernization project included an analysis of existing building systems (mechanical, electrical, accessibility, life safety, etc.) to identify existing deficiencies and to propose upgrades. Coffman provided fire protection engineering services including a fire and life safety survey of the building and the preparation of a fire protection and life safety analysis report.
