Coffman provided fire protection and life safety code consulting services for a 16-story building. The facility is a mixed-use, high-rise, office building boasting 11,000 SF of street-level restaurant/retail space and 335,000 SF of office space positioned in the Sandy Springs submarket of Atlanta. The TWELVE24 design features a connected high-rise hotel, outdoor assembly spaces and a connection to the MARTA. Coffman’s services included the development of Fire protection and life safety code strategies, review of design documents, development of alternate methods of construction and negotiations with the local building officials and fire departments. Coffman served in a prominent role during the design and permitting phase, specifically negotiating several building code and life safety design issues, addressing the proximity to between TWELVE24 and the Hotel, as well as the large occupant load associated with the occupied exterior assembly space on the 5th floor of the building.
