Meet Eric

Eric leads Coffman’s Southeast Region as senior vice president and managing principal. Encompassing offices in D.C. Metro, Raleigh, Atlanta, Houston, and Dallas, Eric plays a pivotal role in driving regional growth. His experience lies in identifying new business opportunities, attracting top talent, and overseeing technical work projects. Eric’s focus on regional expansion and alignment with Coffman’s strategic goals has led to the region’s continued growth and success.

Eric is a fire protection engineer with significant experience advising design teams, construction teams, and building owners on compliance with local and international fire safety codes and standards. His areas of focus include civic, courthouses, higher education, large public assemblies, laboratories, high rise buildings, historic structures, detention centers, and correctional facilities. Eric’s knowledge and experience include the development of fire protection design strategies, performance based approaches, and special studies related to fire protection and life safety compliance issues. He has negotiated acceptance of alternative fire protection approaches with regulatory officials nationwide.

Eric attended the University of Maryland, earning a bachelor of science degree in fire protection engineering. Eric is also a Design Build Institute of America (DBIA) accredited professional and assists design-build teams with comprehensive input and guidance on all aspects of fire and life safety from initial concept through completion.
