Spokane Public Facilities District The Podium

Coffman provided civil engineering, site planning, and land surveying for the $53 million Spokane Public Facilities District multipurpose event venue located in Spokane, Washington. The 135,000 sf progressive design-build facility was designed with maximum flexibility to accommodate a wide variety of sports and events, highlighted by the West Coast’s only 200-meter hydraulic banked running track. The competition space will also allow for 16 volleyball courts, 9 basketball courts, 21 wrestling mats, and flexible multi-sport space. The site design included public gathering spaces, art installations, and a connection to the adjacent Riverfront Park Ice Age Floods Playground. Coffman provided consulting services for the site development, including site planning, public right-of-way vacation, topographic and boundary surveys, property acquisition exhibits, boundary line adjustments, easements and legal descriptions, erosion and sediment control, earthwork, grading, storm water management, pedestrian and vehicular circulation, truck loading bays, sanitary sewer, fire suppression, and water system improvements.
