Scripps Encinitas Acute Care Building

The Scripps Encinitas Acute Care Building is a medical facility designed to provide high-quality healthcare services for the community. The building was designed with patient comfort and safety in mind, featuring spacious rooms, natural lighting, and a calming environment. The facility has four floors including one basement level, with each floor serving a specific purpose, including emergency care, surgery, and intensive care units. The construction of the building utilized the latest technology and materials, including energy-efficient systems and sustainable features to reduce its environmental impact. The building’s exterior features a modern, sleek design that complements the surrounding landscape.

Coffman provided fire protection and life safety code consulting services for the demolition of multiple existing buildings and the new construction of the three-story Acute Care Building with an approximate total gross area of 224,000 sf. The new building is a single structure that was built over three phases, with each phase requiring a degree of demolition of existing structures at the project site. In each phase, there were partially demolished buildings that had to remain operational during construction. Coffman worked around these constraints strategically alongside the design team.
