Point Loma Nazarene University Sator and Latter Hall

The 36,000 sf, two story science building features 13 flexible research laboratories, laboratory support areas, four classrooms, offices, an astronomy telescope deck, and conference rooms with new media and distance learning capabilities to meet the modern needs of the Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Math, and Computer Science departments. Framed in cast-in-place concrete, the building also includes an elevated walkway leading to a patio with expansive views of the Pacific Ocean. A curved stainless steel environmental screen on the exterior of the building is angled away to reflect heat away from the building and reflect light back onto the patio. A pedestrian bridge connects the new LEED Silver registered Science Building to Rohr Hall, the University’s 50-year-old science curriculum facility.

Sator and Latter Hall was awarded the 2016 PCBC Gold Nugget Award for Best Educational Project.
