Pastime Plaza

The Pastime Plaza is a new two-story commercial mixed-use building constructed on Main Street in historic downtown Pleasanton, California. In keeping with the historical appearance of the previous building and the architectural style of the neighborhood, Coffman worked closely with the architect and retail tenants to produce highly desirable retail and office spaces. The building features decorative cornice treatments and a clock tower to the disguised elevator and mechanical equipment.

Coffman provided the structural design and end user tenant improvements which involved a mix of structural steel beams, columns, and wood framing. The lateral force resisting system consists of both moment frames and braced frames and subsurface conditions dictated the use of reinforced concrete drilled piers and grade beams.

Coffman also provided the design for temporary shoring to protect the adjacent hundred-year-old retail building.
