Northern Quest Casino Expansion

Northern Quest Casino is a major entertainment destination located in the Spokane area. In 2017, Coffman provided structural, mechanical, electrical, and fire protection engineering services for their over 40,000 sf, $20M expansion, including a family-friendly childcare and arcade area, retail, food court, outdoor patio, and iconic 20-ton, weathered-steel chandelier hanging 50 feet from the roof in a glass enclosure.

Our team’s structural design accommodated the new mechanical and electrical elements and met the client’s priority for economy and speed of construction by issuing design documents in phases. The new mechanical system emphasizes energy recovery and smoke control between the gaming and kid’s areas, as well as modifications and rerouting of existing facility utilities to fully integrate the expansion into the main facility controls system.
