NantStudios

Coffman provided mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering for a multi-story building that supports two LED recording studios, data center support rooms, talent support (green) rooms, office space, and viewing areas. This project consists of one 12,000 sf studio and one 4,500 sf LED recording studio where NantStudios leases out their recording stage and proprietary equipment to production companies making commercials, music videos, movies, and other visual projects. Special attention was given to the electrical requirements of the building, as there were very high electrical loads associated with the LED stages. For the mechanical system, the cooling air distribution system was selected with the acoustical engineer to minimize any ambient sound that would be perceived during the recording process.
