Limelight Boulder Hotel

The Limelight Boulder Hotel and Conference Center is a six-story, 252-key, mixed-use development with a separate parking garage located at the northwest corner of the University of Colorado at Boulder campus. The Limelight-branded hotel is a partnership between the University and Aspen Hospitality (formerly The Little Nell Hotel Group) intended to link the campus, research groups, local businesses, and nonprofit communities in Boulder. In addition to the guest rooms, the property features approximately 25,000 sf of meeting space, a ballroom, a restaurant and bar, an outdoor pool, and a courtyard with additional outdoor event space.

Coffman provided fire protection and life safety code consulting services for the 2.95-acre ground-up development. Coffman’s fire protection team developed the fire protection strategy strategically to avoid a high-rise designation due to the change in grade of the building site and the conference center, which required collaboration with the campus fire marshal to ensure the exit discharge could support the large number of proposed occupants.
