Headquarters Point

Coffman provided structural engineering services for two lab/office buildings. Building A is three stories (approximately 110,000 sf) over one level of subterranean parking. Building B is three stories (approximately 98,000 sf) over one subterranean level that combines parking and usable area. Both buildings are designed as warm shells, and both include exterior mechanical enclosures/equipment yards. The building is constructed with cast-in-place concrete slabs and beams, concrete columns on a relatively uniform grid, concrete shear walls, and concrete moment frames for lateral resistance. The floor and roof slabs have large undulating perimeter cantilevers up to 24 feet in length.
