Genentech Building 341 Fuel Cell & Library Relocation

Coffman determined foundation and utility requirements for the installation of a 2MW fuel cell in a high seismic zone. Utilities included gas, power, communications, water, and sewer connections. Code analysis and client criteria were evaluated to determine fire detection system requirements. Coffman also determined the piping requirements for natural gas supply and bracing that was required. The project included options for hydrogen storage tanks and a vehicle dispensing system.
