Float Station

Coffman provided structural engineering services for the seismic retrofit design and tenant improvements to a 2,400 sf existing commercial building in downtown Campbell, California. The renovated structure will house a spa center with six individual floatation tanks. Modifications to the structure included adding new beams and columns to create an obstruction free hallway down the center of the building as well as adding an 18 foot tall glass entryway on to the front of the building. The seismic retrofit consisted of adding diaphragm to wall anchors and new wood shear walls at the perimeter of the building as well as a new steel moment frame to support the glass entryway.
