Coffman provided structural engineering services to reposition an existing three-story, approximately 146,000 sf conventional steel framed lab/office building. The building built in the early 1980s was completely gutted and updated. In addition to evaluating the structural impacts of floor plate modifications, upgrades included skin system replacement, partial level-three demolition for a 3,000 sf exterior patio deck area, a revised lobby entrance, lobby monument stairs, and the relocation of HVAC units and shafts. The space lessee, Mirati Therapeutics, also required lab/office tenant improvements.
