Collage South Coast Plaza Tenant Improvement

The Collage Tenant Improvement project was an exterior facelift and an interior renovation to the two-story Bloomingdale’s Building at the global shopping destination South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, CA. The existing building is primarily steel framed with steel braced frames at the exterior walls.

Coffman provided structural engineering services for this high-profile tenant improvement. The exterior improvements included modifications to the existing curtain wall and the addition of an exterior feature wall at the building entrance, a new steel framed cantilevered entry canopy, supports for a new folding operable wall, and site ramp and retaining walls to create an exterior patio space. The interior space was renovated into a food hall space with stalls for food vendors. Interior improvements also included the addition of a steel-framed feature stair to connect the two levels of the food hall and structural supports for new architectural elements including soffits, suspended light features, and food stall improvements.
