Bridger Ski Foundation Sunset Hills Corrosion Support

Coffman provided corrosion control engineering services for the snowmaking system associated with Bridger Ski Foundation’s Sunset Hills Nordic Ski Trails located in Bozeman, Montana. The snowmaking system consists of approximately 3,800’ of buried 4” diameter steel water pipe for snowmaking purposes.

Investigative services included evaluation of soil corrosivity, cathodic protection system troubleshooting, ACVG/DCVG surveys, and root-cause analysis. Design services included the design of a coupon test station for enhanced monitoring and a galvanic anode cathodic protection system for metallic components within a concrete non-potable wet well. Remediation support services included direct examinations, pipe repair analysis, protective coating recommendations, and electrical isolation repairs to restore cathodic protection effectiveness. Monitoring services include annual cathodic protection surveys, technical reporting, and on-call consulting.
