Alexandria Nautilus Renovation – Life Science Building

Coffman Engineers (as Hope-Amundson) provided structural engineering services for a four-building office/life science complex for Nautilus totaling approximately 450,000 sf. In addition to new construction, the project included the renovation and addition of a new subterranean fitness center structure to the west end of an existing two-story steel-framed structure. A tunnel connects the fitness center to a lobby elevator in the existing building, requiring underpinning a portion of the existing structure. The project earned LEED Platinum Certification for Core & Shell from the U.S. Green Building Council.
