Aegis Living Kirkland

Aegis Living Kirkland (Aegis) is a 129,000 sf, five-story assisted living and memory care community. Assisted living communities help residents with day-to-day needs while offering an independent and residential environment (compared to a skilled nursing facility). The Aegis features studio and one-bedroom floor plans to accommodate a variety of financial and lifestyle options. For physical and mental wellness, Aegis provides residents with meals, exercise classes, and daily activities. The community features a unique design, such as a front porch and gables, giving it a charming aesthetic.

The building consists of three levels of wood framing over a two-story post-tensioned concrete podium, which includes a cinema, underground parking garage, and exterior courtyard. The project was located on a steep site that required shoring and three-story concrete retaining walls. Coffman was the structural engineer on the project.
