241 18th St Fire System Upgrade

Coffman provided fire protection and life safety code consulting services for the fire system upgrade at 241 18th Street in Arlington, Virginia. The project included 12 above‑grade stories of office space and four below‑grade stories that consisted of a retail level and the G2 through G4 parking levels. Portions of the existing fire alarm system were outdated and needed to be replaced with equipment that could integrate with the newer components already in the building.

Coffman prepared bid documents, including drawings and specifications, for the fire alarm system replacement and reviewed the bid proposals submitted by contractors. After the contractor was selected, Coffman reviewed the fire alarm shop drawings and participated in both the Owner’s acceptance test and the final Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) acceptance test.
