1865 Euclid Avenue Voluntary Seismic Retrofit

Coffman provided seismic and structural engineering services for the voluntary seismic retrofit of a four-story residential mixed-use building at 1865 Euclid Avenue. The building was originally constructed in 1914 and features three stories of residential units and a partial subterranean level with space for retail and storage areas. The focus of the retrofit was to design new wood shear walls throughout the building, steel moment frames at the subterranean level, and strengthen subsequent concrete foundations. The retrofit scope was determined by a seismic loss estimate. In addition to the retrofit, Coffman provided tenant improvement services for all residential units and the retail space within the building.
