Coffman Engineers is pleased to celebrate Will Veelman’s 40 year anniversary with the firm. Will Veelman, PE, SE, is a principal, the longtime structural department manager of our Anchorage office, and Chair of Coffman’s Board of Directors.
Will’s impact can be seen across Alaska where he has spent most of his career providing structural assessments, repairs, renovations, and full engineering design. He has worked on many notable Alaska buildings, including the Anchorage Nesbit Courthouse, Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport Concourse C, and industrial facilities throughout Alaska and the Pacific Northwest.
When asked what engineering projects impacted Will’s career, he said, “There are a number of clients I have provided engineering for consistently over the years. The long-term relationships developed, and projects completed were rewarding to our clients, our business, and myself.” These clients include the owners of Anchorage’s power generation utilities and Cook Inlet offshore and onshore gas and oil facilities, both of which Coffman has provided services since 1988.
Over his career, Will has impacted the success of the firm’s growth and development of employees. “I have had the privilege of working with Will for 12 years. On my first day on the job, I was told I was lucky to have Will as a mentor, and that has proven to be true. Will’s mentorship extends beyond the structural department that he manages. Coffman is fortunate to have had Will for the past 40 years and everyone that has worked with him has benefited from his leadership and willingness to share his technical expertise and engineering creativity,” stated structural engineer, Matt Stielstra.
“Will’s contributions during the last 40 years is a big reason for the company’s continued success. Will is beloved by employees and clients for his understated leadership style, integrity, and sense of humor. I am proud of all Will has accomplished and am proud to have him serving as the Chair of Coffman’s Board of Directors. Our company would not be where it is today without Will’s dedicated service,” praised Dave Coffman, founder of Coffman Engineers.
Join us in celebrating Will’s contributions to Coffman Engineers, the Alaska community, and engineering profession! Congratulations, Will!
