WSDOT BR-16E Tacoma Narrows Inspection

Coffman acted as the prime consultant for the Tacoma Narrows Bridge No. 16/110E in-depth electrical and mechanical inspections. The bridge is the fifth longest suspension bridge in the United States, at 5,979 feet in length, and is located on State Route 16, between Tacoma and Gig Harbor. The electrical inspections involved an overall inspection of the bridge’s electrical system including witnessing and performing feeder meg ohm tests, FLIR camera IR inspections, conduit condition inspections, amperage readings, witness of the fire alarm test, ground resistance tests, and inspection of the navigation and aviation equipment.
